The condition of Wayanad and surrounding areas is quite worse as houses are submerged in water and even some vehicles like cars can be seen entangled in trees. The natural beauty of the areas like Chooral Mala and Noolpuzha is covered with mud. Around 400 families in Chooral Mala have been disconnected from other areas after the collapse of a bridge.

Rain is still hindering the rescue work as heavy boulders are still rolling down causing delay in extracting dead bodies. NDRF and District Police are participating in rescue work, The condition is so worse that Madras Regiment has also been called to conduct rescue operation. Helpline numbers 9497900402, 0471 2721566 are working under the State Police.
